FAQs

Currently we are a team of 14 people at StudioMX.
We intentionally keep ourselves a smaller team than other similar outsourcing companies because it allows us to be better connected with the great clients we are fortunate to work with.
-
Until the pandemic hit, we had an amazing office at VIA Corporativo in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
Now, we are completely remote with the majority of our team members based in various locations throughout Mexico.

We want to match whatever workflow works best for you. All of our clients do things a specific way and we adapt quickly. But, ideally, a good workflow has these components:
1) we meet online/video on a regular basis (especially early in the process).
2) we show regular progress, discuss tasks and deadlines.
3) we use an online tool to keep in contact between meetings to keep things moving (ask questions, share issues, etc).
We have found that if clients share a past set of drawings with us, then we can answer a lot of questions on our own and not overwhelm them by asking about the basics.
-
Yes. All of our work is on projects built in the United States. We are versed in all types of construction and projects ranging from high-end complex residential to multi-family developments to large commercial and industrial projects.
-
Yes, everyone at StudioMX is bilingual and speaks both English and Spanish. Although, Jason’s Spanish isn’t even close to as good as everyone else’s English.
-
Our Team Leaders are the point of contact for each client. Depending on how large or small the project is, the Team Leaders are assisted by other team members. But it is the responsibility of our Team Leaders to gather information from you about the tasks, assignments, and deadlines, and then organize our team to make sure we deliver quality work, on-time.
-
We use a Professional Service Agreement (PSA) to establish the working relationship and outline how we will work together.
Once we have an executed PSA, a specific Work Authorization is issued via DocuSign for each project we work with you on. The basis for Work Authorizations can be a fixed price, a not to exceed amount, or on an hourly basis depending on what best serves your needs and the project.

Each of our team members has an Autodesk AEC Collection license, which includes Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ReCap Pro, and several other tools (click here for a complete list). We also use other tools like Ideate to help streamline certain workflows.
For our internal project management, we use Basecamp. We welcome our clients to join us in Basecamp if they want to, which allows easier coordination and communication. But, we’re also happy to use Teams, Slack, or other project management platforms if your company already uses one.
And, since we are an all remote work-based company, we have a digital office in Kumospace, and welcome anyone to come join us to meet, collaborate, or join a quick Tetris competition.

Jason and Daniela are more than happy to jump online and share this info. Just click here to schedule an online meeting.
The hard sell isn’t our style. We love meeting new people in the industry and will enjoy any conversation, even if it doesn’t end up with StudioMX getting to work with you.

With a little bit of a heads-up, we can generally accommodate new projects fairly quickly.
We created our own fancy spreadsheet to help us know how much work we can take on. That information gets published here anytime there’s any update (several times daily): AVAILABILITY.
You’re always welcome to hit the LET’S MEET button and talk with us specifically about your project, timeframe, etc.
